The lakes are located mid-way between the two French towns of Vitre and Laval. The lakes are situated in private fenced grounds on the edge of the forest of Le Pertre, and down a little-used country side-road.

Ferries are available to all western coast ports from Portsmouth, as well as the traditional overnight ferry to St Malo. We use the LD Lines ferry to Le Havre a lot, this is very well priced and operates at convenient times.. The new motorway from Rouen has now reduced by an hour the travel time from Calais and Boulogne.
