Good news from Breton this week is that Poplars has produced its first 40lb carp and new lake record to a 15 year old member of the Deverson party of Kent. This smashed his personal best way out of sight. The superbly conditioned mirror of 41-08 was caught from the pads swim.
Everyone else is still catching on both lakes with fish into the 30's, but several good fish have been lost, including a monster cat on Poplars.
The stockpond has been re-named Poplars Pond and has been stocked with a good head of coarse fish, small carp and Wels' catfish. This will now be exclusively available to parties booking Poplars, and the small pond is likely to be very popular with junior anglers.

The new carp have been spread equally between the two lakes this week. With the tremendous head of big carp these two lovely small waters now contain, visitors in 2002 are in for some fantastic catches!
